CO-HOSTED by SEA-LA, SE4Jobs, REDF
Meet the New Innovators: Social Enterprise Showcase
New to social enterprise? Or maybe you’re a social entrepreneur and you’re interested in hearing about what LA County opportunities for social enterprise look like. Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran to the field, join SEA Los Angeles, SE4Jobs, and REDF at the GOOD HQ on Thursday, May 19th for an evening of connecting, learning, and social enterprise.
Get to know social enterprises
We are showcasing newer social enterprises, including Povertees, OurFoods, LA Towels, and others! You’ll get a chance to meet these new players, see their work, and learn about how you can support them and they can support the community. Refreshments will be provided from With Love Market, also a social enterprise.
Get involved with LA County
We are honored to host Brian Stiger and Leticia Colchado to discuss the upcoming procurement and hiring opportunities with LA County. These are exciting initiatives to increase social enterprise business engagement and employment opportunities for the people you serve.
There will be plenty of opportunities to network. To make this event even more interactive, we invite you to:
- Bring any job listings or volunteer opportunities for which you’re currently seeking people
- Bring yourself if you’re currently looking for jobs in the social enterprise space
- Bring any other wishes or opportunities you have to post on our wall of opportunity
We will make it easy for people to find each other and what they’re looking for.
It’s going to be a jam packed and energizing evening --can’t wait to see you there!

About the Hosts:
Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) - LA The mission of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance is to support and advance the field of social enterprise in the Los Angeles region through networking, training, public education, and advocacy.
Our long-term priorities:
- To develop an extensive network of LA-based social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, social investors, and all other individuals and organizations interested in social enterprise.
- To encourage and support LA-based social entrepreneurs through mentorships, financial support, trainings, and more.
- To inform and engage the broader Los Angeles community with respect to the emerging trends and opportunities in social enterprise.
- To advocate for a local, statewide and national policy agenda that supports social enterprise and entrepreneurs.
SE4Jobs is a community of Social Enterprises and partners committed to increasing job opportunities for people who face barriers to employment. REDF provides the field with the specialized resources and nation-wide connections they need to increase their impact and scale their businesses, so they can help even more people with employment barriers get employed, stay employed, and advance. We do this by providing forums for peer-to-peer learnings, knowledge experts to advance the field, tools to track collective impact, and marketing to increase exposure and awareness for social enterprises.
REDF is an intermediary that invests in social enterprises that employ those who have the toughest time getting a job. We provide grant funding and technical assistance to help social enterprises grow and increase the number of people they can employ. Additionally, REDF works to build the social enterprise field by bringing together social enterprises, funders, businesses, and government agencies to create an ecosystem that has the potential to create hundreds of thousands of jobs nationally and transform pathways into the workforce.
