The Carl & Roberta Deutsch Foundation is pleased to announce the release of its 2015 application for the Halo Award, aimed at celebrating and strengthening volunteer efforts throughout Greater Los Angeles. If you have submitted in the past and/or are a smaller organization, we highly encourage you to apply!
What is the Halo Award?
This $25,000 award brings together two distinct pieces in its design:
1. $20,000 grant for a nonprofit to strengthen and sustain its volunteer efforts, and
2. $5,000 award to a nominated volunteer who has gone “above and beyond” in volunteerism.
Additionally, the Foundation will provide enhanced support to Halo Awardees in the form of coaching and peer networking sessions designed to strengthen and sustain volunteer efforts within their organizations.
How does a nonprofit and volunteer qualify for the Halo Award?
Applications will only be accepted by nonprofits in and serving the Greater Los Angeles area and the surrounding counties, whose missions align with at least one of the following Carl & Roberta Deutsch Foundation program areas:
· Arts Education
· Homelessness Prevention
· Career and College Access & Retention
· Mental Health
· Early Childhood Education
· Foster Youth
· Workforce Development
Applications from agencies that demonstrate the capacity and desire to formulate a plan to strengthen and sustain their volunteer efforts will be highly regarded. The nonprofit nominates one unpaid volunteer who has provided exemplary and impactful service to the organization.
Applications are available through the website:
The application deadline is July 13, 2015.
Submit an application and forward this information to your community partners who would benefit from the award. If you have questions, please send an email to HaloAward@crdfoundation.org or call (310) 453-0055 ext. 6. Thank you!
