Hello, my name is Sean Maurice. I’m a Community Outreach Coordinator at KaBOOM! We are a national non-profit dedicated to bringing balanced and active play to the lives of all kids. The primary way we do this is through our Build it with KaBOOM! grant, which is a chance for a community to pull together in order to build a great, new playground for their kids. We’re looking for a non-profit in the Los Angeles or Los Angeles County area who can benefit from that opportunity. If interested, please me by phone at 202-464-6074 or by email at

    Dear Sea Los Angeles Director,

My name is Chiara and I am writing you in order to apply as a trainee for the Globus traineeship program. I am an Italian student at University of Cagliari and this is my third year. I am interested in having a traineeship Globus experience in your association because firstly I think it follows specific programs which can allow me to improve my skills as a future social worker.

Secondly I believe that having an abroad experience is a magnific opportunity of growth for me and for the system which will host me as a temporary member. I think that Los Angeles would be the right city because I have always been thinking that there are many things to experienced,to learn ,to be helpful for and at the same time to visit, as I have never been in U.S.A. before. That’s why I feel curious to know and to see which differences and similars in common our countries could have.

I wish I could be able to come and spend that time in your association about the period between May/June and August 2017, as my University requests to spend minimum three months for a total of 175 hours.

Not only this but also I love spending time with people who need care and I hope one day I will be able to work in this kind of enviroment , as I have already had different experiences as a au pair in London ( for 2 years) and in other social enviroments.

In case you may be interested in having an interview , I am totally available at any time.

If you will be happy to know more about this I will send you my detailed CV, my english certificate and more info about the GLOBUS project.

For the moment I thank you for the attention.

I look forward to hear from you soon.

    Best regards

    Your Sincerely

    Chiara D’Urso

Greetings from Hong Kong!!! I am the founder and chairman of Bonham Strand, an award winning social enterprise focused on custom apparel and sustainable fashion.

Here is link to a video on us by the WSJ a couple of years ago:

We are in the process of expanding our social enterprise to select US and European cities including Los Angeles with a focus on impacting urban economies by addressing the “empty calorie” nature of their commerce.

I will be in Los Angeles Friday July 1st and would very much appreciate an opportunity to introduce our social enterprise and our approach if your schedule permits.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello. I am writing because our organization is seeking some guidance and support as we create a nonprofit for youth by youth that is 2 pronged: providing capacity development for youth 15-25 and creating partnerships with small business operators as well as starting our own enterprises to create job opportunities for the same age group. Ultimately our vision is a youth mall where we can make one stop and get various services, plus learn about job opportunities and build our personal and career skills through workshops and training. We have been providing training since 2013 and are ready to open our first business. With whom might we speak to see if we are eligible for your services? Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Marge Bermann ED for LA Local Youth Advocacy Council

Would love to help promote and support your event coming up this week.

Saw location TBD… Have a space that we could talk about co-sponsoring and would be interested to see how we can support in the future at Impact Hub LA. We are all impact and just want to see it thrive in LA. Will be posting the event to our community and look forward to being there.

I am an instructor at the University of California Riverside as well I am a doctoral student doing research on Social Entrepreneurship.

I am writing in an effort to find Social Entrepreneurial Managers to participate in my research study about the value of social ties for managers in social entrepreneurial organizations. I am looking for managers eligible to be in this study- top management at an organization that is focused on making society a better place.

This study could help to refine managerial practices for managers with the social entrepreneurial field.

It can be as easy as taking 10 minutes for an online survey or I would like to interview five managers about social entrepreneurship and networking.

Hi! I am doing a story on food-based social enterprises in Los Angeles for the L.A. Weekly and have interviewed the teams behind With Love LA and 5000 Pies in Long Beach. I am hoping to speak with someone at SEA LA to get some wider perspective on social enterprises in the city and how these restaurants and grocery stores are fitting in.

I am sorry for the late notice, but I am trying to turn this story around in time to post before Thanksgiving, so if there is any way to chat with someone knowledgeable about social enterprises and possibly food ones specifically before Monday, that would be amazing. Thank you in advance!

The application deadline for Kick, the pre-seed accelerator for social-good entrepreneurs, is coming in two weeks. I’d be grateful if you could help me reach out to the founders or aspiring entrepreneurs in your group.

Or the direct link with more info and application is here:

Hi! I’m here representing Code the Change. Code the Change, a newly formed USC student organization, is seeking social ventures and non-profits in need of mobile applications, web applications, websites, databases, or custom desktop software. Code the Change was started at Stanford as a class and soon expanded to Berkeley as a project-based student organization/hoster of hackathons. The goal of the organization is to partner Computer Science students and developers with non-profits or local business to promote using computer science as a means of creating social change and benefitting society on a larger scale.

A team of USC’s top student developers will work with any organization to assess how software can help the organization. Over the course of a semester, these students will then develop a mobile application, web application, website, database, or desktop software that meets the organization’s needs.

We’ll have one or two student development teams within Code the Change will each be able to dedicate up to 300 hours (collectively) to a project over the Spring 2015 term.

Organizations can expect software with features such as:

    · Information about the venture or non-profit

    · A well designed user interface

    · User accounts and storage of unique data for each account

    · The ability to search large amounts of data relevant to the venture

    · Integration with Twitter, Facebook, Google Maps, and other major web services.

    · The ability to run on all major mobile platforms, web browsers, and operating systems

Software can be as feature-heavy as necessary to help the venture, but should be limited enough to be effectively completed over 12-15 weeks. Longer projects can be divided into consecutive terms, with minimum essential functionality produced by the end of the first.

In order to get the most out of the student development teams, company management should be prepared to make key managers available for constant communication regarding venture needs, as well as interim progress reviews.

Social ventures interested in this program should contact:

    Bernard Xie
